This is why cancer is so scary.
But often overlooked are the habits that may unnecessarily increase our chances of getting cancer. It is these risk behaviors improvement "Sel-inflicted" that each of us can attack. This is because these risks are those that can be mitigated.
You can simply choose to "say no" to cancer knowing what these risk factors are consciously avoiding actions that lead to increased risk. These factors are relevant for breast cancer prevention if, leukemia, skin cancer, or any of the other dozens of cancer killers.
For example, we all know that being overweight is a marker for diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and coronary heart disease. But having unwanted fat hanging over your body also increases your chances of getting cancer later in life. This may be enough to make you think twice about hitting the machine junk food the next time you are hungry.
If you visit the cancer risk Quiz you will see a cancer risk scale ranging from zero (no chance of contracting cancer) all the way up to ten (fatal propensity). Unfortunately, most of us live somewhere in the range between 5 and 9. Not too surprising when you consider that two-thirds of the population will face a fear of cancer during their lifetime.
