The New Stuff

Why do you want to quit?

Why do you want to quit?
With the amount of public health information available everyone is aware that smoking cigarettes is almost suicidal.

Smoking is linked to massive medical risks with scientists discovering ever more dangers and more health risks. Coupled with the amount of money a smoker spends all his habit smoking is certainly little more motivation to quit smoking.
The problem is that despite all the education of knowledge and health, knowing how it is you do not provide enough incentive or fuel the will to take decisive action and stop smoking once and for all.

One factor is that, in contrast to the wealth of health information and advice from the government, thousands of children start smoking everyday meaning months after dozens of months of thousands of young people put on the road that their parents are already, addicted to nicotine and all on a journey ending in lung disease, cancer, or one of the growing list of conditions related to smoking.

It does not matter if you consider smoking cigarettes to be a habit or an addiction, it is widely recognized that it requires hard work, dedication and a lot of will to break the habit and quit. The human brain reacts to nicotine, when the nicotine levels in the blood decrease the brain requires a "Top Up" and load the body, and so then you spark up another cigarette and inhale a whiff of toxic chemicals, nicotine, tar and smoke which is then transported through the body by the bloodstream with the nicotine absorbed by the brain, temporarily tarnished nicotine cravings.

Ask almost any smoker and he will tell you that the judgment of this sequence of events is so far from simple, if you want to quit, and is vital that you build for yourself a detailed list of measures you will take. If you start with an action plan in place, then you may feel that breaking the habit is more natural, your withdrawal symptoms will be less, stress will be reduced and your change of success will be greatly enhanced.

What is a good place to start? Honestly answer the following:
How badly do you want to quit?
How strong is your desire to quit smoking?
Do you want to stop just to save money?
Is the pressure of your peers main reason to quit smoking?
Do you really want to leave at all?
Do you want simply because of pressure from someone else?

These all appear to be simple and open questions, but the bottom line is, you really want to quit smoking because you want to stop, you alone without external influences, external pressures will just get your more stressed and you do even less likely to succeed with your campaign to stop smoking.
